What happened to Spring?
Woke up to 6 inches of new snow on the ground this morning... WHAT?!? Turned into rain later...We better get a nice, dry, warm summer after this extended winter...

Week(ender) in Washington
We went down to Seattle for a weekend trip for Dave's mom's cousin's grandson's Bar Mitzvah. Weekend trip turned into a week long trip when Mt. Redoubt blew ash all over the Anchorage area and we couldn't fly back to Anchorage. Took advantage of being flightless in Seattle and drove north to visit Julie! Unfortunately, there was no time to visit anyone else or my old 'hood behind Butch's Gun Shop on Aurora near Green Lake.
The Bar Mitzvah celebration was held at the Space Needle. Dave's entire immediate family was there. Uncle Bob, Aunt Elaine and Cuz Lauren made it out, too!

all the kiddos were on the dance floor. The DJ came with 3 'dance motivators'!! Never heard of hired dance motivators before.

Next day we went with all the little larval humans to the aquarium. There were 12. TWELVE of them total. Good thing their parental units were also present.

after the aquarium, we parted ways with the midgets and headed over to Pike's Place Market.
VEGETABLES!!!!!!!!!!!! and they look FRESH! and not like they're about ready to go bad once you leave the store!
On the way to Julie's we came upon a field of snow geese! At least 10,000 of them. it was magical.
and then an eagle came by...
and flushed all the geese
there were tundra swans, too

went exploring - Fir Island, Whidbey Island..lots of herons. Could see brant out in the distance.

trying to connect the stumps. Yes, I know. I don't have the right footwear and I didn't want to get my running shoes all gooey. Didn't think I was going to need my xtra tuffs on this trip!
