Dipnetting

Dave come home for a short visit last week. We went dipnetting on the Kenai River and caught 21 red salmon and 2 pinks. The rest of the week revolved around processing fish: filleting, smoking, canning, vacuum sealing, and cleaning.

Mt. Marathon with Patti

Patti's 2nd to last day in Seward. We went up Mt. Marathon with a bunch of folks that hadn't gone up to the top yet, or had never been on the race trail: Beaté, Mandy, Cindy, Ian, Jessica & Patti.

on the last day in Seward we went to the sealife center for some time with the birds. A lone spectacled eider duckling hatched this year. She's trying to make it with Patti. :)
Had a great time with Patti! anyone else want to come up for a visit and sign up for AK boot camp, let me know! although it will be a different version next summer - Fairbanks style. Will involve dodging mosquitoes.

Exit Glacier Ice Hike

We went on a guided ice hike on Exit Glacier today. I've hiked the Harding Ice Field Trail several times but have never gone on the glacier itself. It was amazing.

Patti's visit (AK Boot camp)

Patti is out here visiting for 5 days. Day 1: Lost Lake Trail. 15.75 miles. Jessica & Mandy and dogs joined us. Dogs cooling off.
Lost Lake in sight! It was a hot hot day with some haze from the fires.



Mandy & I signed up for the Lost Lake Run in late August. We had a couple runners pass us on the trail. Like this one. 1 month left for training!

Next day we went out to Aialik bay for a day paddle. Pigeon guillemot with snack.
