A few more photos

More dog entertainment. Rasta Emma!
My parents really enjoyed having Porter & Emma around. My mom and her grand-puppies!!
My dad says that in a former life, mom must have been a squirrel. We will never starve at their house. And we are never able to find anything in the fridge but my mom seems to remember where everything is. Loading the fridge is like playing a game of tetris. She somehow makes everything fit!
We are back in Seward now. We had a wonderful visit with my family. I miss them terribly. It's hard to imagine living anywhere else besides AK but it's also hard living so far away from family.
Thanks for the great visit you guys! love you!

Frisco

We went to Frisco (1.5 hours SW of Boulder) and spent the night at Patti's parent's condo. John et al. & Patti et al. met us up there. No time for downhill skiing, we went for a walk instead. It was really good to spend some time with Patti, Jim, Emily & John, Floye, Mae. Patti and I have been best friends since jr. high school and I met John in band camp right before high school started (YES - marching band camp!!!).
We took turns dragging Emily on the sled.
And Mae in her sled.
We brought some moose roasts for dinner. Emily helped us put the spices on it. John is in the background, fixing the blender so he & Patti could have their margaritas.
Floye & baby Mae
Tuco begging for attention
Mae is only 5 mo - look at the amount of hair!
Dave enjoyed playing with Emily's toys - especially this magnadoodle
the ladies enjoyed playing with Mae
Mae - you can't choose your parents...!! HAH! no, really, she's got a great set of parental units.
bat baby! Mae seemed to really like viewing life upside down.
Mae also likes to bounce a lot. So much that, as to quote John, '..might prevent other babies from being produced'

We saw Bighorn Sheep on the drive up and down! They blended into their habitat extremely well. Can you find them?
some blow-ups of the photos revealed some sheep:

Sledding

Video 1 = Sam
Video 2 = random kid. We felt kinda bad afterwards for laughing so hard (Seinfeld moment) because the kid knocked the wind out of himself and didn't stop crying for a long time.

Video 3 = Dave & Kristina

Happy Xmas!

We went for a hike at Chataqua Park after a lazy morning breakfast. White Xmas in Boulder!
Dogs catching snowballs
family portrait
the parental units with the Flatirons in the background
our turn!
Dave decided he needed to do a little more than hiking.
close up shots of Kristina
and then Sam... looks a little possessed
After our hike, we went to get some nice hot Pho soup for lunch!
We got home and Dave decided he needed to do some shoveling since he is suffering from withdraw of not being able to split wood at my parent's house.
now it's time for some movies and then dinner and more movies!!! Hope everyone is having a great day!

Xmas Eve - Asian Style

All the Chinese families came over for dinner on Xmas Eve. We gorged ourselves on food, per usual. Even though all the kids are grown-up now, we still get regulated to the 'kid's table'. But this year, Dave and I were invited to the 'big kid's table'. I guess that's what happens when you get married. Bruce is next. Or could it be Sam???

And per usual, after dinner and dessert, there is the live karaoke!
the 'kids'
the Big kids
And now Dave is an honorary Asian

Fresh air

We met up with Patti & Emily out by the Boulder Reservoir for a walk in the AM.

Why are dogs so entertaining?
Sam and I took the dogs out for another chuck-it session and watched a gorgeous sunset.

Iyer's visit

Our great family friends, Pam & Hari et al. in Ft. Collins, came over for a visit. My dad and 'Uncle' Hari went to grad school together at CSU and our families have been friends ever since I can remember - 30+ years. Below, Owen, the 3rd generation of Iyers explores Potter's paw.
Kristin's oldest son, Scott wants to join in on the fun, too!
I'm practicing.
Porter loves Owen
Here are the 'kids'. Kristina, Sam, Kristin, Geoffrey, Me, Owen & Dave.
and Scottie!
Unfortunately, they were unable to make the wedding this summer. I'm really glad we got a chance to visit with them. It's funny, whenever we get together we regress to our teen-age/pre-teen selves.
