Bike for Women in Anchorage

After Pink Cheeks, we headed up to Anchorage for a visit with the Wilson-Flints and Heather & I participated in the Bike for Women event. In costume, of course.

race day. Our team name was BirdNerdBikerBabes. But we stuck with the Sunflower theme from Ski for Women. Heather is amazing. sewing up our costumes in record time!
We weren't quite sure how the attachments were going to survive the ride but they did pretty well.
We were the only ones that were in costume!! Someone commented on how we were the Party Wave...Love making people SMILE! :)

My 20+ year old Nishiki Ariel is still kicking. but looking forward to getting that cross bike soon.
The costumes survived the 9 mile bike. Good practice for the Gold Nugget which is in 2 weeks.

Pink Cheeks Triathlon

First big race of the season in Seward. Sarah, Beaté, & I participated as Team pHysio pHems. Sarah did the 6 mi bike, Beaté ran 3 mi and I did the 900 yd swim. No photos of me swimming (thankfully). We were all happy with our times and we placed 4th in our age group! not bad for a group of gals just out to have some fun!

Timmy swam in the lane next to mine. then got recruited to help with the finish line. those volunteers should get some hazard pay - some of those bikers forgot to slow down at the finish!

Afognak Beach Herring Mission

Dave wanted to harvest some herring this year but they eluded us again. Loads of eggs though:Dave & Emma looking for herring

1st trip on the water

First boat trip of the year for me & Dave. Went out on Resurrection Bay to help Justin & Richard seine for herring for work.
