Bison Hunt

Dave drew a coveted bison tag this year and we hunted over Spring Break. Dave had already hunted the month previous with no luck. I spent most mornings looking for Bison with Dave and the afternoons working on a mid-term. Hunting bison involved a lot more walking around than I imagined. The temperatures were still cold and the wind was blowing. We stayed at the Silver Fox Roadhouse. The cabins are small but there's water. And a sauna in the bathroom! The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful. I don't know why you would stay there unless you were hunting but we highly recommend it. Anyways, we hunted for a week. I had to get back to Fairbanks and, of course, Dave got a bison as soon as I got back to Fairbanks.

We are so thankful for this animal. The meat is delicious. Like really good grass-fed beef. We'll enjoy it for the next year or so because we'll probably never have it again!
