Watson Lake Canoe

Earlier this month we brushed the snow off the canoe and went paddling. Dave took the pak boat out for a scouting mission - looking for a good campsite before we loaded up the canoe. I think he just really wanted to take the pack boat out.Emma's ready.that brown lump is a live muskrat
common loons. there were a ton of birds on these lakes. cranes flying over head. buzzed by arctic terns. and ducks. there were lots of ducks, too.
camp. mmmm mooose steaks!
Dave taking the pack boat for an evening paddle. Frogs were singing that evening. Man they are loud!
Emma pretending to be a muskrat
Glaucous-winged gull & Bonaparte's gullEmma, riding the bow. But really getting run over by the canoe. She whines the entire time she's in the canoe so then we'll drop her off on shore and most dogs will run along the shoreline. Not Emma. She freaks out when you start paddling away and swims after the canoe. Lucky she's cute because sometimes she's not very smart. She figured it out finally and spent most of her time running on shore.
lunch break and some shelter from the wind
