time with A & D

We found ourselves driving back from the wedding in blizzard conditions! Just like that, Fall in Fairbanks was over and winter blatantly announced it's arrival. We woke up to a little layer of the white stuff sticking to everything. I stayed with Brook the first 2 nights and then Adrian & Dan the last 2.Brook & Heather came over for brunch. Unfortunately, the Kaufmans couldn't make it - the roads proved to be too slick and dangerous and they had to turn around. I missed seeing you guys!
Later that afternoon, we took a walk in their neighborhood and went to check out a friend's newly purchased cabin. Here's Adrian horsing around in the shower made of skis!

So fun to be able to spend time with these guys and catch up!
We really miss them.

I drove back to Seward today after going to the USGS office and turning in all my 'official' government items. My time as a federal employee is over! not sure how I feel about it. probably more upset that I'm losing my Patagonia prodeal but I probably don't need to be giving them anymore money anyways. Hard to believe I started in that office in '99 as a seasonal.

AND!!! I transported a red-necked grebe back to work for rehabilitation. I actually forgot to ask what was wrong with her so for those of you that are wondering. I'll find out and get back to you.
