I drove up to Fairbanks on Friday. Spent this weekend unpacking. Dave and I are still drowning in boxes. Hopefully we'll get settled in this week. I went straight from summer to winter! It feels really good to be back up here. I'm surprisingly happy and content! I do miss Seward but I didn't realize how 'free' I was going to feel upon physically leaving the sealife center. Too much uncertainty and instability in that building - the day-to-day of it was starting to wear on me. I'm officially a contractor now. I have full-time work with the sealife center for the next 5 months on a grant that we received this year for a new project. I am Sedna Ecological, Inc. Sedna is the Inuit goddess of marine animals. It's nice to be a free agent! Here are a few images. My last hike up Mt. Marathon last week.

Poor Emma. hardly any room for a pup dog to sleep!

wondering what we're going to do about all these boxes!

snow? already?

we're going to put together a 8x10 metal shed to store our crap in!

more updates soon.

2. Poor Emmy J! I think it's funny that she chose the most scrunched up place to sleep...
